Our company became an honorary member of the platform "Water in the Ústí Region"
HSR ÚK became the coordinator of the emerging platform "Water in the Ústí Region". This aims to define the opportunities and risks of the Ústí Region in the area of water and to formulate the region's needs in this context. In addition to representatives of the region and cities, the members of the platform are also experts from universities, research organizations, industrial enterprises, and from the ranks of farmers and water managers.
The emergence of the thematic platform was initiated by several professional and business entities, which expressed the need to coordinate some activities in the area of water potential utilization in the region. "At a time when strategic documents for the future of our region are being created, we must be able to formulate what our region needs. And it is in water that there is enormous potential. Large hydric reclamations are being created, the situation on the Elbe and in the Ore Mountains is being resolved, large industrial enterprises whose processes are dependent on water are operating here, and agriculture is developing. In addition, we have universities here that are engaged in research. I see bringing together experts who have something to say on the topic of water as a step in the right direction," says HSR ÚK chairwoman Gabriela Nekolová, who moderated the platform meeting.
During the meeting, the participants mainly discussed the range of topics that the platform should deal with. The debaters identified topics related to education, research and development, recultivation and revitalization, industry and energy, forestry, agriculture and water in the landscape or transport as the main ones. Also on the agenda was the formalization of the platform, the draft of the introductory memorandum and the next action plan. The next meeting is scheduled for the turn of August and September.
