When you buy mineral water today, it can be completely mineral-free!

Dle nové evropské legislativy označuje slovo MINERÁLNÍ původ, NIKOLIV obsah MINERÁLŮ, jak tomu bylo dříve. Nově tedy pouze fakt, že pochází “z podzemí”.

The meaning experienced for centuries is therefore different today and the vast majority of the population is this name effectively deceived.

Under the name "mineral water" the majority of the population imagines water that contains important minerals. That it is basically a spring with medicinal use. For centuries, this term was used in our countries and the definition was that the word "mineral water" refers to water with a content of soluble substances greater than 1g per liter. Or have a natural carbon dioxide content greater than 1g per liter of water.

Moreover, it is not widely known today that "kiselka" is the name for a spring naturally sparkling with carbon dioxide. The prevailing opinion is that effervescence must always be supplied artificially using oxygen bombs.

Currently, most of the "mineral waters" sold in our country do not have 1g, i.e. 1000 mg/L, and mineralization of less than 100 mg/L, i.e. less than 100 mg TDS (summary of dissolved solids, total dissolved solids) is also common. The recommended mineralization for drinking water is around 300 mg/L.

Waters previously referred to as "mineral waters" are today, according to the applicable legislation, referred to as natural mineral waters with therapeutic use, or in packaged form as "extracts from natural medicinal sources".

Currently, there are, for example, original and genuine spa springs on the market Bílinská kyselka, Jaječická bitter, Rudolph's spring and Vincentka.
